lectric gate motors with 220/230V require start capacitors in order to function properly.
The correct location of the capacitor is as close to the motor as possible although sometimes they are located inside the control box and still function satisfactorily
A faulty capacitor often becomes swollen, with the sides or ends bowed or bulged out further than usual.
It is good practice to periodically replace start capacitors and especially when changing the motor itself or if electric gate problems start occurring.
